TELFORD PARLIAMENTARY hopeful Hannah Campbell has pledged to work with Shropshire’s health chiefs to deliver the right local healthcare system that Telford desperately needs.
Hannah has discussed the challenges of balancing the right emergency healthcare provision with the Shropshire Acute Trust’s chief medical officer, Dr Nick White and received a detailed briefing on the challenges facing the trust in the next five years.
Hannah, who is standing as the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Telford at the General Election later this year, set out her vision for the local NHS as the provision comes under review, both locally and nationally.
She pledged to fight to preserve vital services at the Princess Royal Hospital including a 24-hour emergency healthcare operation, but she also committed to work with the local health providers to identify ways to speed up hospital discharges by broadening adult social care investment and adding extra bed capacity.
Hannah said: “I’ve been talking to health service experts and local people to hear a wide range of views about local NHS services, and it couldn’t be clearer that this is one of the key issues for Telford residents.
“The preservation of local services is going to be one of my top priorities and I want Telford people to be reassured that the next Conservative Government will be on their side to continue to improve our much-loved NHS.”
Hannah added: “What everyone in Telford wants is the best possible NHS provision and I don’t want to be part of the stalling of investment that puts Telford residents at risk.”
